It’s Time to Fess Up About My Terrible Running Playlist

running_playlistWhen I was in college, I was that guy at parties who thought his taste in music was better than anyone else’s. I’d often introduce myself to complete strangers by saying things like, “Yeah that song is cool if you’re into the mainstream, but I’m really into this 10-piece screamo band that only has five MySpace followers.”

A lot has changed since then. For starters, I don’t go to parties anymore. Jess will tell you that I’m insufferable to be around any night I’m not home by 9:30. But more importantly (at least for my personal growth), I’m less of a music snob. A lot of people might even make fun of what’s currently on my running playlist, which is exactly why I think it’s time to share it with the Internet.

What Our Newborn Son Has Taught Me About Running

kids_bookshelfThe twelve of you who subscribe to this blog might have wondered where I’ve been. And I get it. I haven’t posted anything since September, when I lamented the fact that the Giants did not draft Josh Rosen. But, I’m back with life news! Jess gave birth to our amazing son last December. He was a shade over 7 pounds, had an APGAR score of 9 (whatever that means!), and has been screaming at me ever since.

Most new fathers (I think) have learned lessons from their kids. What surprised me were the lessons that our son taught me about running—and how quickly they became obvious. Here are a few of my favorites.
